Get a beautiful, SAFE glow any time of the year with LatteTan's Custom Airbrush Tanning. Multiple levels for any skin tone.
By using the highest quality solution and equipment, we offer the best color available. Our airbrush artists are certified and specially trained to give you a natural tan you’re sure to love.
Airbrush Tanning is a temporary bronzing of the skin lasting 5 to 7 days. The active ingredient in our solution is called DHA and is a natural carbohydrate derived from sugar cane. DHA oxidizes the amino acids in the top layer of your skin to create a natural tan color. Think about the inside of an apple – once exposed to oxygen, it begins to turn golden brown.
Your skin will be flawlessly airbrushed by a certified technician using an HVLP tanning system. The solution is applied as a mist and will blend evenly into a beautiful, full body tan. Airbrush tanning is done by hand and is more accurate than a booth or self-tanning lotions and safer than the sun or a tanning bed.
The airbrushing process takes no more than 10 minutes plus 5 minutes dry time. You will see an immediate difference in the color of your skin after your session but should avoid moisture for 8 – 12 hours while the tan develops.
We highly recommend that you shower, shave, and exfoliate your skin at least 3 hours before your scheduled airbrushing session. This will create a clean, dry canvas for your Airbrushing Technician to work with. Do not use any lotions or perfumes before hand, as this will create a barrier between the solution and your skin. A clear coat of nail polish should be applied to your nails to prevent staining – or you may choose to use a blocker cream instead, which will be provided.
Avoid restrictive clothing immediately after your session. To extend the life of your tan, moisturize after each shower and use a tan extender to ensure even fading.

Our airbrush tanning artists will assess your skin and help determine which shade will give you the most natural looking color. Generally, an airbrush tan will give you the color equivalent to around 5 sessions in a conventional tanning bed.
LatteTan accommodates clients in and around Birmingham, MI. You may choose to be airbrushed at your home, hotel, dorm room, office, or almost anywhere else. A traveling fee maybe required for some locations depending on the distance.
Shower, shave and exfoliate at least 3 hours before your session. It is recommended that you do not use any lotions, oil-based exfoliating scrubs or moisturizing creams before your session. Do not wear deodorant or makeup.
Painted fingers and toes will protect your nail beds from staining. If you do not wear polish, apply a clear base coat before your airbrush or use a barrier cream (which we will provide) on the nail beds.
Depending on your comfort level, you may wear a bathing suit, bra and underwear, pasties, or go topless or nude. Immediately after your session, wear loose clothing or a robe and avoid wearing a bra, socks or other restrictive clothing.
Most sunless tanning solutions contain an instant bronzer for immediate color. This is temporary and washes off during your first shower. The bronzer can leave color on clothing and/or sheets. The solution is water-soluble and will wash out of cotton. Silk, leather and other materials may stain.
It is recommended that you avoid moisture (i.e. swimming, showering, sweating, and hot tubs) for at least 8-12 hours after your session. Early exposure to moisture can stop the DHA’s development process.
Our solutions have moisturizers that will keep your skin hydrated until your first shower. You should lotion every day after your first shower to prolong the life of your tan. Make sure not use any lotion that contains petroleum or mineral oil as this will cause early fading and streaking.
The average sunless tan can last between 5 to 7 days depending on a person’s activity (excessive sweating or contact with water will increase fading). With follow-up applications or a tanning package, your tan will lasts as long as you choose. For single sessions, moisture maintenance is the key to prolonging the life of your tan. Make sure to stay hydrated and moisturized. Avoid rough exfoliation during the life of your sunless tan for even fading.
Visit our online store for lotions and tan extenders to prolong the life of your tan and promote even fading.
If you must get wet avoid the hot tub and try the pool. We recommend that you liberally apply a waterproof sunscreen before you enter the water. Pat dry with a towel (do not wipe) and apply a moisturizer immediately after you are done swimming or getting wet.
DHA is FDA approved and only penetrates the outermost layer of the skin. There is no evidence that DHA is harmful. However, we do recommend that you consult with your physician first.
No. Airbrush solution will not hurt tattoos but may darken the color during the life of your sunless tan. If you are concerned about this, ask your technician for a recommended barrier cream to cover your tattoo before your session.
Sunless tanning solutions do not have sunscreen protection, and will not protect you from damaging effects from UV exposure. Whenever you go into the sun you should always apply a sunscreen.
